Backyard Blitz at Crash Palace – Before

I’m joining up with Trish from My Little Drummer Boys for Wordless Wednesday so I can share some ‘before’ photos of some projects we have on the go.  Hopefully I can come back next week with the ‘after’ shots!

Concrete-laundry-tubs
We will become herb gardens!

timber-for-fence
We will become a fence!

planning-sandpit-deck
We will become a cubby and sandpit!

We’re making the most of CrashHubby’s month off work.  Not really much of a holiday – he’s  been working hard.  Also, stay tuned for a Crash Test on how I’m going to turn those concrete tubs into herb gardens with the help of Kyrstie from A Fresh Legacy – A leaf from my garden.

What projects have you got on the go?

Apartment, no garden, so most projects are indoors. Big one is finally hanging pics up. I could try some herb pots for the balcony too though it gets so sunny and windy they probably wouldn’t make it. :-(

  2. Hello there, spooky! I just linked to some photos of veggies we grew in 2011 as inspiration to get me going again in 2012. It was really beaut to grow our own. Get that hubby up and at it!

  4. Oooohhh I love the old concrete tubs! They are going to look super cute and I’m sure the herbs will taste totally yummy too! I have such a bad record at growing anything, but we’re prepping an area behind the house to put some herbs and a few veggies in, so we’ll see how it goes. I swear nothing beats picking your own fresh produce to use to cook…..

I really want a veggie garden but it requires energy that I just don’t have. Hopefully later this year :)

  8. Yes, you have much work ahead, we will be vigilant.

  9. I love before and afters. Great idea using the concrete tubs for your herbs. My projects include finishing redecorating the lounge room (almost done!), creating a photo wall, and continue decrapifying Chez Gray.

  19. Good luck with these, Laney! We definitely need to move and raise up our herb garden beds. Our fence fell down in last night’s storm and crushed our entire veggie patch. Gah!

The Crashkids will LOVE that sandpit and cubby.

Oh no! That really sucks. I assume at least your house is ok? Hubby is making progress on the fence and I’ve done the herb garden! Sandpit and cubby lagging behind!

  20. We’ve got a 30 sq metre deck being built – husb’s holidays aren’t really holidays at our place either! It’s looking so good and is going to be such a great space. Can’t wait to see your end results… Such a great space for you and children.

Isn’t it funny how the men get time off work only to do even more work at home? At least we are the ones to benefit from it. Enjoy your deck. That’s one on our list too!
