For those of you who missed the live updates from my Crash Test Mummy Day Out on Saturday, here’s some crash tested ideas for you to hint at for Mothers’ Day ;)
I had such a good time that I just wanted to do a shout out to my hosts for the day. I’m not getting paid to write this, although I was a lucky duck and received a $200 gift card and some awesome treatments and products.
I can highly recommend some pampering and shopping for any mum who is a bit stressed out and is constantly putting others first.
My day of pampering and shopping unfolded at Highpoint Shopping Centre in Melbourne’s West. It used to my my local years ago, a lot has changed since then and there are more changes to come with a $300 million redevelopment which will include the West’s first David Jones.

First stop for me was the Ottoman3 Nail and Brow Bar. Now this is where you go if you want to feel special! The staff were amazing (thank you Mini, Nina and Suzy!) and it felt like a spa experience tucked away in the corner of Myer. I didn’t need any convincing at all to try my first eyebrow threading experience. It was a bit ouchy at times as it takes longer than the quick ‘zip zip’ of waxing, but the results are totally worth it. Besides, if you’re reading this I’m going to assume you’ve experienced childbirth, so suck it up and give it a go ;).
I also had my nails done which was divine. Suzy helped me choose a colour and we went with a gel polish that lasts 14 days. It’s almost a week later now and there is not a single mark, chip or scuff on my nails. Simply incredible given what I’ve been up to this week (mega dishes, mod podging, cleaning etc etc). You can read my full Ottoman3 review here.

Next stop was L’Occitane for a Winter Skin consult with Sabrina. I was treated to more hand pampering with a hand scrub and massage, but not before I was warmly welcomed with a cup of cherry tea – yum! I was also lucky to have a mini facial and had to buy the Shea Cleansing Milk, on top of the other lovely products Sabrina gifted to me. Did I tell you how lucky and special I felt? I was really happy to be the guest of L’Occitane as their focus on organic and ethical products is right up my alley. You can read my review of the Shea Ultra Rich Face Cream on L’Occitane here. I’ll be adding the products as I use them to the Crash Test Mummies review site.
Then it was time for catching up with the CrashFamily to see how they were getting on with shopping for my pressie. Of course, I offered a little guidance ;). It was great to go to a different mall than usual, it was fun and I probably looked at shops differently, even the chain stores.

I’ve also celebrated my early Mothers’ Day over the week with a few cheeky glasses of [yellow tail] Bubbles after receiving a bottle each of the rosé and white bubbles from the lovely folks at Casella. Now I love my wine and I can honestly say, you’d be pretty happy spending $10 on this Bubbles. It a good easy and fun drink. I’ve enjoyed having a glass a couple of nights this week and the cool thing is it’s fancy closure. You can replace the cap and save your Bubbles for another night. How cool is that?

Now, I’m not the only one who gets to have all the fun. Here are the winners for the giveaway:
$100 GPT Gift Card
Jasmin Tragas
6-pack of [yellow tail] Bubbles
Kristen Lea
Tam Milborn
Michelle Vamvas
Congratulations to these Mummies and Happy Mothers’ Day to you all. I hope you have fun and get a little pampering and shopping time yourself :)

Definitely give it a go – such a good result. My brother went to the hairdresser, she took one look at his brows and asked if she could sort them out. She used threading and now he’s contemplating getting it done again!
Thanks Laney, after the week I’ve had I reckon I’ll polish off a few quite quickly! Lol
