Inspiration: A grey bedroom?

Our bedroom is the biggest room in our tiny little house.  Which means it becomes a dumping ground for all the crap we can’t find space for elsewhere.

Our bedroom is not a sanctuary.

I’m really tired lately, a lot tired.  I’m not getting enough quality sleep.  I hate retiring to our uninspiring, chaotic bedroom each night.

Time for action.

I think I would like a nice calming grey bedroom.  But is it too gloomy?

I must say I prefer the light grey over the darker shades, and I’m quite liking the pops of yellow.

Do you think CrashHubby will let me do this?

Our bedroom is about 5 m x 5 m – it’s huge.  We have almost floor to ceiling windows on two sides.  It’s lovely and light.

I’d love your opinion on a grey colour scheme.  What other colours do you think will match well?

  1. I like grey bedding but then you definitely need some colour in there otherwise it’s a bit too grey. Have you seen Oh Mabel linen – just gorgeous!

  2. You know what is now driving me insane is that people don’t reference their images properly! I am trying to find that yellow and grey duvet and none of the images have actually linked to the product. GAH! It’s so gorgeous!!

  3. Grey doesn’t do it for me, but It is calming and I imagine it would be a lot more practical than my preferred stark white! I dream of a white-on-white bedroom (with warm wood furnishings), but with the kids and whatnot it’s far too impractible. A really welcoming bedroom is a must for me, it is my favourite room of the house. i’ve never had a bedroom quite the way I’d like it – but aspiring to that odeal is one of my reasons for living, LOL!

  4. The grey looks quite calming but I think it really does need the yellow to give it a lift. Pick up the yellow guitar, have a strum and you will be a world away!

  5. I like the lighter grey tones with a little pop of colour to de-gloomify. I hear you on the cluttered non-peaceful bedroom, every time I tidy it up it all comes back again *sigh*

  6. I love grey! You can have different shades (im not gong to all 50 :) from charcoal to egg white. If you want the bedroom to be a sanctuary you should steer away from bright colors, like yellow, and go for a more dull (and I don’t mean in the boring sense) color scheme.

    I love picture 1 and 5.

  7. Definitely go grey, then you can add a touch of any colour you want, there are no limitations.

  8. The grey is stunning but like most of the others have said, a colour would give it a lift. I’m partial to the yellow but teal would also be gorgeous.

We just got a new bed and it means the whole room looks strange now… Using this for some inspiration to make some changes.

  9. Hi there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if
you knew where I could locate a captcha plugin for my
comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having trouble finding one?

    Thanks a lot!

  10. Link exchange is nothing else except it is just placing the other person’s web-site link on your page at appropriate place and other person will also do similar for you.
