What’s a blog carnival? For those of you who are not bloggers it is a great way for bloggers to promote their writing and connect with other bloggers and readers. For non-bloggers it’s a great way to find new blogs to read!
When I first put my hand up to host the Digital Parents‘ Blog Carnival it was 2011. I was a keen new blogger and there were lots more ahead of me in the queue. My turn was to be December 2012. It seemed so far away, and yet here we are (a month early because someone pulled out).
To be honest I’m not a very industrious blogger. I’m exhausted most of the time. Social media overwhelms me and I find it hard to keep up with memes and linkys. Don’t worry, the irony of hosting the carnival now is not lost on me! However, I do appreciate the community and support amongst bloggers and it has picked me up many a time. I also love to find new blogs to read.
So without further ado, here are some awesome bloggers sharing their best blog posts from October with us all:
Michaela from Five Frogs on a Blog: A story about intent (and how I got run over)
I had some homework from Problogger so examined the intentions of my blog to create a manifesto. Proving again that blogging is dangerous, I also got run over.

Sophie from iSophie: My American husband – We met online 15 years ago!
I met my husband in a chat room on the internet. The first thing he ever said to me was “Hey I’m an interesting person” to get my attention. I was chatting to 5 other people at the time, but I still responded to his message. So glad I did! We now live in Tasmania and have 4 gorgeous sons.

Josefa from Always Josefa: The First Night
My blog post is about becoming mum and the battle I had with the preconceived ideas of what that would bring and the reality of what actually happened. I tried to highlight the burden of sleep deprivation. The burden of self expectation. The burden of what I thought society expected of me – becoming that mum.
