Who’s taking care of what and whom? Huh?

Sorry for the confusing heading, but it was the shortest way of telling you what this post is about – sort of.

‘Take Care’ is one of my main themes that I rattle on about on this blog.  But what am I talking about exactly?  Well first and foremost my focus is on taking care of myself, because if you remember, I wasn’t doing a very good job of it and ended up crashing with adrenal fatigue.  I’m still not that great at it, but I’m improving with each crash test, whether it be quitting sugar, exercising or working my pelvic floor!

However, the idea of ‘Take Care’ also extends to the environment we live in.  I’m not exactly a full-on hippy greenie (whatever stereotype that is these days!), but I am doing what I can to minimise the impact of our lifestyle on the environment.  As you know I’ve been leading up to World Environment Day next Tuesday with some ideas for upcycling  – just easy small changes that make a difference to minimise waste.

I just wanted to give you a heads up of a cool initiative my ‘Take Care’ sponsor ecostore is launching for World Environment Day.  Sharing your tips on upcycling/recycling and telling your stories about random acts of kindness may be rewarded with some great ecostore products for you and a friend!  I’ll let you know on our Crash Test Mummies Facebook page when it launches :)

Now, back to taking care of yourself.  Today you’ll find me over at Nicole Avery’s Planning With Kids blog, talking about “5 lessons learned from taking care of your kids when you’re sick“.  We all know how hard it is to look after the kids when you’ve got the flu or worse.  Pop over and see what I learned once I gave up my stubborn and perfectionist ways!

Until next time . . .

Take care,

Laney x

  2. Will pop over to have a look. Freeing yourself from perfectionism is a huge gift to self and family… ‘easy does it but do it’ is a great motto.

Great to mingle self care and care for the world!
