{Wordless Wednesday} Northern Hemisphere Christmas Trees and Lights

I’m linking up with Trish from My Little Drummer Boys for Wordless Wednesday.

It’s that time of the year, so here are some snaps of a few Christmases we had in the Northern Hemisphere:

Me too! We were going to go to Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic for Christmas and stay in Hotel Pupp. I chickened out though because I was quite pregnant at the time, so we stayed closer to home.

  2. There’s something magical about a Northern Hemisphere Christmas. We’ve had a white Christmas twice in Canada – and it was perfect. Christmas lights look amazing with a backdrop of snow as well. It’s a bit of a let down to sweat it out in Australia!

You’re so lucky to get the snow at Christmas. We experienced the first big fall of the winter in Montreal – it was surreal. I agree that Christmas isn’t quite the same here. Still, for me it’s all about family at the end of the day, no matter where you are.

Not sure I could brave the cold of a northern Christmas but it would probably be magical. I quite like the Amsterdam shots, especially outside the old building. Is that the Castle? Dam Square?

The weather can be sooooo cold, especially winter in the Outer Hebrides in Scotland! I can’t remember where the tree was in Amsterdam. If my friend Steph reads this, perhaps she can tell us! We were visiting her and her husband for Christmas that year.

  4. These are gorgeous shots! Makes me want to jump on a plane and brave a freezing xmas!!

  9. It’s beautiful! I wasn’t that much into Christmas lights and trees last year, but I’ve learned a lot about taking night photos since then (or at least I’d like to think so) and I’ll take lots of photos this Christmas. Can’t wait!
